Welcome to the Lavender Blue Cottage exterior home tour! Let me show you around our new, cozy cottage home.
Hello my friend! This is a big day! I’m thrilled to finally be able to introduce you to our new home – The Lavender Blue Cottage.
This home, located in the tiny town where I grew up, has always been a dream home for me. I’ve loved it since childhood and I feel unbelievably blessed to now be able to call this darling cottage my home.
If you want to read about the twists and turns that brought us to this point, see my YouTube video/podcast on Why We Moved From the Home We Built.
Today I want to introduce you to The Lavender Blue Cottage (originally built in 1970). We’ll take a tour of the cottage exterior and the surrounding property. An interior tour will be coming soon, so be sure to check back!

Now, let’s get started on the photo tour! I’m not going to say much, and just let you enjoy these images.
Table of contents
Lavender Blue Cottage Front
Some fun features of the front of the home include:
- hand built rock walls
- trees, ground cover, grass, and vegetation everywhere!
- cute little pond with a fountain that we haven’t put in yet
- the home is the most beautiful light blue with black shutters
- very convenient circle drive
- cedar shake roof (which unfortunately needs replacing soon)
- we’ve already sprinkled dozens of lavender plants around the front garden beds and hope they come in well
Driveway, Pasture and Landscaping
On our property you’ll see:
- large fenced in pasture, with an adjacent horse barn (it’s the cutest thing!)
- another fenced in pasture/field where we plan to put the lavender farm and perhaps greenhouses some day (right now my hubby’s cows are grazing it)
- beautiful long driveway to the back of the house/shop with very large evergreen trees
- fruit orchard with apple, pear and plum trees
- large grassy area where we hope to put the vegetable garden someday
- 2 garden sheds
- gazebo, arches, and little treasures galore!
Lavender Blue Cottage Back and Patio
The back of the home is probably my favorite because of the:
- stone chimney
- pathways
- dropped down fire-pit area
- cozy back patio
- lilac bushes, trees, bushes, etc.

Take care during the arduous demands of the move.

So different from what you came from. The only thing I hated for you to leave was your pantry😊. Can’t wait to see more.
